After being on the lookout for a reasonably priced Stuska Dyno (and not finding one) I've decided to have a go at building a basic engine dyno myself. I've got an understanding of how they work and have a basic idea mapped out, all I really need to get started is the engine brake itself.

At this stage I'm potentially looking at using a hydraulic motor as the retarder but am also looking into fluid couplings and electro / hydraulic retarder units. It probably simply depends on what comes along first.
