The Blue Flame, the last American car to set the official FIA world land speed record, at 630.388 mph in the kilometer, in 1970. This was the last world land speed record set at the Bonneville Salt Flats near Wendover, Utah. Also, the last world land speed record set on rubber tires (Goodyear). The Blue Flame was designed and built at Reaction Dynamics, Inc. in Milwaukee, WI -- Dick Keller, Pete Farnsworth, and Ray Dausman, driven by Gary Gabelich.
