Project Jethro
As I have many projects my next one the top of my to do list is Jethro my 1970 lowlight camper. I brought this camper with 2 other kombi's about 9 years ago. I wrecked the other 2 kombis as i had no room for them and kept the best out of the lot. I gave it a quick coat of paint when I first got it and never did much more.
here are some pictures of jethro
After attending the busstop last year here in the mount i got the urge to start the job of doing the bus up. We had a comp to name it which Doc was the winner with JETHRO the winners prize was a bit of art work on the kombi. I have painted the fuel flap with the art work on it here are a couple of pictures we may have to re paint it and reapply the sticker but it will still be the same art work
I have decided the best plan of action was to work on Jethro one side at a time. I start on his bum cause you know i am a bum guy hence the nickname Choco. Not much work was needed a few dents and to replace part of the battery tray.
After repairing the rear i have started working down the right hand side again a small amount of rust needed to be cut out of the bottom. I replaced one section, and the next section will need to be made up.
Today i took the doors off is i can take them into work and sandblast them and then repair them. I will get the sill panels made up and then will start back on the body.
My plan is to take the whole car into to work to sandblast underneath and also the inside floor. We are unsure what colour it will be and how we will do the interior but we have a while before we will need to work that out. Here are a few pictures of the work ahead
So this is where we are up to as at today hopefully i can keep slowly working on it. But money and time will get in the way no doubt.
