Been doing a bit of research for the salt, looking into gearbox setups and ratio availability for different boxes and stumbled across Hewland gearboxes.Hewland are an English company that started off by manufacturing gearboxes for Lola. Their initial design was based on the VW gearbox and initially were only slightly modified VW units. The development continued and in 1962 a 5 speed version was available. Various design changes were made during the life of the VW based boxes, with all components except the actual casing itself being eventually replaced.http://www.hewland.com/jpgs/dan_gurney_2.jpg
