After being on the lookout for a reasonably priced Stuska Dyno (and not finding one) I've decided to have a go at building a basic engine dyno myself. I've got an understanding of how they work and have a basic idea mapped out, all I really need to get started is the engine brake itself. At this stage I'm potentially looking at using a hydraulic motor as the retarder but am also looking into fluid couplings and electro / hydraulic retarder units. It probably simply depends on what comes along first. A couple of handy resources I've come across... http://www.dtec.net.au/Downloads.htm http://dtec.net.au/Tech%20Articles.htm http://www.dynomitedynamometer.com/do-it-yourself/diy-plans.htm http://wotid.com/dyno/
