as the title says... the grand total that has happened is finally getting some bits i had advertised packed so i could get prices for postage.

the money is already accounted for but it is something. once this stuff is gone i can dig out some more crap and try to turn it into stuff i actually need.

to be honest it will prob get turned into wants not needs. a slight problem i seem to have, lack of focus. i'm far too easily distracted by the unimportant stuff so put off getting the basics that i need.

needs, basic mechanical parts for the car, basic restoration materiels etc. not books or stuff i already have 1 of but like the look of or stuff that is too good a deal to not get but won't fit on my current project (stylistically or year model etc) i don't get too much in this catagory but still, some is more than i need, none is the right amount.

i just realized how (and i can't think of a non biggoted way to put this) female. getting stuff i don't need because it is a bargin. i get cranky at my wife for doing this...

i did pick up some distributor parts that i need for my VJ4 BR25 distributor. now i just need caps for this and the VJU4 BR8's i'm working on. another case of stuff i don't need to do. well the one i'm giving to a friend needs to be done but the other one doesn't, it is just as i enjoy it. good practice for doing the VJ4 BR25 though. more important than the caps i still need to find new shims and washers. curse bosch for deleting them from thier spares line. i wonder if later dist's use the same parts?

has anyone tried fitting the guts out of a BR25/010 into a big cap dist so they could run higher output coils without cross firing?

i need a 40hp to play with. i've been doodling linkage setups for twin carbs and need a motor with stale air and later shrouds to work out the carb height to see which linkage style would work best. thinking that while mounting the 28PCI's sideways would make far simpler linkages, would it cause probs with the fuel in the float bowls sloshing about like you suppositly get when running twin DCNF's? slowly simplefying (how the fuck do you spell that) the designs + less parts, less complexity, less cost, less bits to f'up. more chance of getting finished. it is a most interesting enterprise in design. good mental exercise too. plus makes work actually interesting.

first day off tomorrow since starting this blog, wonder if i will get any time to play cars. mind you it is school holidays and i have spent all of it at work so seeimg my children would be nice.
