didn't end up doing any tip runs, that desperately need doing. (to remove all of the shit that marnie, my wife, finally pulled out of my shed).
pulled out the fake assistant to take an assembled pic, then thought that while i was at it i may as well clean up the dividers and rubber bits. the mat for the top tray still needs work if i ever get around to it, or just don't end up cutting a new one from something. later i loaded my tools into it, the sockets and spanners are still in thier storage thingy's but i'll have a look at another way to keep them organised in the shelves.
less dividers and trim, closed up.
4 cans of degreaser, several large rags and a few ours later, here it is in all it's glory.
far from perfect and missing it's trim off the bottom tray, but clean enough to put my tools in. i have suffled the dividers around a little to get my tools in. some more of the grot on the mat in the top tray may come off, but it will take more work than i was up for this afternoon.
after i got it loaded up i figured that i'd have a look at the rims i scored today, one thing led to another and i found myself trying to take the tyre off. i really can be too much of a tight ass for my own good. it is a shitfull job.
after at least an hour of stuffing around, cursing more stuffing around i finally got it off... i should add that a bush (brush?) saw is excellent for cutting through stuborn crossplys. you will need a hacksaw to get through the metal strands around each mounting edge. ...once the tyre was off i was ably to have a look at the inside edges of the rim. i am amazed by the condition of the sealing surfaces etc, apart from the missing hubcap clips it is a very nice wheel, the best part was when i saw the manufacturing date on the rim. i didn't even know they had these rims then. it really made the time spent fighting with the tyre trying to get it off feel worth while.
the other wheel (now also tyreless) has a 3/56 date on the rim and a 8/56 date on the center so the wheel above prob isn't as early as 2/55.
an odd thing about the wheel above is that it has no markings on the center at all bar a T in a circle.
edit, please ote that all of the pics of the trolley are of one side, the other has some overspray that i don't know how to get off. this side makes it look so much better.
