From memory there is a booklet you can buy from the guy who originally thought of the conversion. rustyovali might be able to tell you more. AFAIK you need to modify the cylinder tin to fit and make / buy a generator stand and pulley to suit. The other way you can go is what I've done on my Type 4 which is to use a Porsche fan and glass shroud. There used to be a company here in Aus who did these - #Sharpbuilt Pretty sure he's still making them. If not you might be able to pick one up second hand.  More ...

    • Hi mate,I'm using a CSP python.The header pipes are probably around 30mm lower than the sump and the muffler tip is 120mm from the road.I had toHi mate,I'm using a CSP python.The header pipes are probably around 30mm lower than the sump and the muffler tip is 120mm from the road.I had to modify the muffler to clear my shocks,no big deal.I'm not super low but I've had no scraping issues at all.Before I put the CE steering rack on the front was scraping ALL the time.I guess my bus is lowered 120mm all round.Exhausts are the one of the spendy bits with a Typ4 but these motors are really sensitive to the exhaust set up so its not really something you should scrimp on.I'm running an A1 sidewinder on my oval{2718cc Typ4} and I can say the quality of the CSP is miles ahead,much bigger and thicker flanges than the A1.  More ...
