From time to time I update the website and add / remove features depending on what I think is working. The site has gone through many changes over the past 10 years and what started out as very feature-rich site now been reduced into a basic community blog site. I think that this is a format that still works as whilst the social media giants taking the bulk of peoples attention they still do not do blogging very well. There are of course plenty of other blogging platforms out there, but nothing really like VDubber.

So recently I've been updating the site so that its integration with social media is a bit more refined and is also fully automated. I've also decided to re-introduce competitions to try and win peoples attention away from Facebook. The goal is to get the site running like a well oiled machine and then hit the VW Facebook groups hard in a recruitment campaign.

There's already a lot of content here on the site so new members are not going to be left bored, there's plenty to look at and hopefully the competition will encourage people to participate rather than just lurk.

Drumming up interest in the site has always been hard work, leaving it to grow organically never really took off, it needs the hard sell, it needs to have someone punting it around.

Let's see where this ends up.
